Summer is Flying!!!

I can't believe how fast summer is going. Megan starts school in a month!! And I am panicking. I feel clueless on what she will need. Thankfully I have a friend that is a school teacher and she has given me some ideas that has helped a little. I haven't registered Megan yet because I didn't know where we were going to be living when school started. I think I am most anxious about that. Megan needs a couple of shots, after her doctor appointment on August 12th we can go get her registered.

I am still trying to deal with the fact that I have a daughter that is going to kindergarten. It doesn't feel that long ago I was in school. Megan is so excited she just can't wait!!! She asked all the time if she can go to school tomorrow. I have to tell her not yet, but really soon.

Ryan and I will have to change the way we do some things... No more late night runs to Walmart. Or leaving during the middle of the week to go visit family. Oh well... it will help us all have a better bedtime schedule.

Family History- Joel Hills Johnson

Family history has become my a biggest hobbie right now. I figure while I work at Ancestry.com I better take full advantage of it. I get a free subscription to all TGN websites so I better use it. I love reasearching the Johnson's family (on my Dad's side in my Grandma's line) . Joel Hills Johnson has become one of my favorite ancestrys. There are so many stories about him and his family. When I learned that he wrote the hymn "High on a Mountain Top" I made it a goal to memorize the whole hymn. So far I know the whole 1st verse.

Joel is known for his poetry. This is one of his poems I like. He wrote it after his wife, Anna Pixley, died.

O lovely one, and hast thou gone,

While in life's early bloom,

And left me here to weep alone,

My loved one in the tomb?

Must I in life ne'er see thee more,

Weenie Roast up Diamond Fork canyon

Last night we went up Diamond Fork canyon with our friends Duane and Teresa for a weenie roast. It was a blast. Ryan and I have taken our girls up there several time. We were glad that Duane and Teresa went with us this time. Diamond Fork canyon is a beautiful canyon that forks off of Spanish Fork canyon. Megan and Lindsey love playing in the dirt and sand that by the time we are ready to go they are covered from head to toe!!. Lindsey likes to throw the sand. She even throw several handfuls into Megan's hair. When we got home Lindsey had a pile of sand in her diaper and I had to shampoo Megan's hair twice to get all the dirt and sand out. It was great to be outdoors. The girls could play and the adult could visit.

After dinner of roasted hot dogs, we had s'mores (Thanks to Teresa). Ryan and I have brought marshmallows before but Ryan doesn't like s'mores so have never made them. Lindsey and Megan loved them. I got a couple good pictures of Lindsey. Megan told me it isn't nice to take pictures of people when they are eating. I don't have any goods ones of her.

We can't wait to do it again!!

Lindsey's First Day of Nursery!!

Lindsey is now 18 months old!!

That means she can now go to Nursery. I'm so excited. Today was her first day, I wasn't sure what to expect. Megan went to nursery with no problems. She told me bye and went right in. Lindsey seemed to know that I was about to leave her. She held me tight and won't let me more then a couple of inches away from her. By the end of church she was warming up to the nursery leaders. She was very excited when they started playing with bubbles. Then she didn't want to leave.

I hope that next week she will go in by herself.

Pictures from Angie's Wedding, July 11th

Angie's unique wedding dress.

I didn't know what to think when she first told me about the dress. I had the mind set that a brides dress could only be white. She wore a white dress during the temple ceremony. This is the dress she wore outside the temple and during the reception. After I saw it on Angie I liked it. It was a very pretty dress and it fit Angie's personality perfectly.

Dog Sitting!!

Megan, Lindsey and I watch our friends dogs on Friday evening. I Loves Dogs. Ryan doesn't. The girls and I had so much fun watching them. As far as Ryan was concerned it was the best of both worlds. I got to play with the dogs during the day and he was happy when took them home that night.

The dog looking at Megan is Mowgli and the one laying down in Keyla. Even though I have been told several time what type of dog they are, I can't remember. They are really good dogs and awesome with kids.

Maybe some day I can talk Ryan into getting some dogs like Mowgli and Keyla.

No More Walking Boot

Yea!! I'm no longer wearing the walking boot for my broken toes!! I'm so excited to be able to walk normally. My advice to anyone is turn on lights when walking in the dark... Especially when your child is walking in front of you.

Angie's Wedding

Life has been busy for us. Last weekend we went to Logan for Ryan's sister, Angie's, wedding. It turned into a long day but we really enjoyed visiting with Ryan's family!!

Angie and her husband Alex, were married in the Bountiful Temple. Their reception was in Hyrum, just south of Logan.

It was the first time in several years that we had all Ryan's siblings and parents together in 1 place!! I just wish I would have thought about getting a picture of everyone together!!

Megan and Lindsey had a great time with Grandma and Grandpa Hathaway. Megan loves weddings. She loves to get all dressed up and showing off her pretty dresses. Lindsey was happy as long as someone was feeding her. She loved the pickles. That is how Lindsey finally let Grandpa hold her.

Ryan and I really enjoyed going to Andrea's house (Ryan's sister) in Logan to visit after the reception. Even though it made it a really long night! We had to come home that night so we didn't get home until around 3:30am.
