I Voted!!

Ryan and I went and voted early!! We don't have to fight the rush on Nov. 4th. This election was the hardest to vote for. There were several candidates and issues that I wasn't sure on. Luckily I'm married to a man who is prepared... We discussed our options and made our decisions. Now we wait to see how everyone else votes.

My BIG CIRCLE

Friday afternoon we took a drive out to Cedar Fort. Ryan found some land out there that was really cheap!! We drove out see it. It is a really nice area but too far to commute everyday for work.

I was driving as we headed home. Minutes after we got on I-15 in Lehi, we came to a complete standstill. It was about 9:30pm when we got on the freeway. By 10:30 we had gone about 2 miles. I was in the middle lane and stuck. I hate driving in heavy traffic!! Ryan kept telling me to change lanes but I am a chicken. So we inched our way forward with everyone else. By 11:30pm we got to the Lindon/Pleasant Grove exit (about 6 miles from Lehi) we saw a hazard vehicle that we directing everyone off the freeway. Stating there was an accident. So I "carefully" cut a crossed 3 lanes of traffic to exit.

Just as we got on the off ramp, they opened the freeway up and let cars through without exiting. I thought that is just my luck. I was thinking I'll just get back on the freeway. I didn't think fast enough. I ended up in the turn lane and couldn't go straight. Again I was thinking no problem. I was go into Lindon and get on State Street and take that to Provo and take the back way home. Ryan by this time was getting grumpy. (He doesn't do well when he is tired and hungry.) He just wanted to get home... He was a little annoyed that I wouldn't cut people off and just go straight to the freeway.

I really don't know Lindon or Pleasant Grove very well. I was really excited when I found state street. I turned left on State street. Ryan asked if I was going the right way. I said yes, of course I was. I know where I was going. As we drove I kept looking for something familiar so I knew were we close to Orem. About 5 minutes later, we drove by a sign pointing to the American Fork Hospital. It dawned on me that I was heading North when I should be going South. I felt really dumb. I had just driven in a BIG CIRCLE!!

I wanted to laugh. But because Ryan was getting grumpy I didn't think he would find any humor in it. I got back on I-15 in American Fork, not saying a word, completing my circle. I was wondering if anyone would notice. Megan did. If Ryan did he didn't say anything. We were very grateful when we finally got home. Even if it was 2 1/2 hours later.

PS I-15 was shut down for several hours on Friday because there was a fatal accident. A woman driving a small car ran into a Semi, crashing the car. According to the News, the driver was taken to the hospital in critical condition. The passenger of the car was killed. My thoughts and prayers are with the families of these women.

Megan's Fall Carnical

This is a little old. I just pulled the pictures off my camera.
In September Megan's school had their Fall carnival.

They had about 8 or 9 big blow up slides and rides. The kids could go on the rides and play some games to win little toys. You could pay tickets for the rides or buy an unlimited bracelet. I was really glad that I bought the unlimited bracelet. Megan when on every ride at least 3 time. Except the large slide. She went down it about 10.

Lindsey was happy to watch her big sister. She would get upset if she couldn't see Megan and start calling for her.

Since I'm working from home this week I've let the girls watch movies to keep them busy so I can actually work. Lindsey favorite movie is Cars. She asked to watch Lightning McQueen several times a day. I am not kinding they have watched Cars 50 times. I know what Lindsey is getting for Christmas this year.
My favorite part of Cars is the short film called "Mater and the Ghost Light". Enjoy!!

Problem 10 years from Now!!

Yesterday I realized that I am going to have a BIG problem on my hands in 10 years.

Ryan had a doctor appointment yesterday. (He had to have minor surgery on his foot to have a wart removed. He is doing great!! His foot is still a little numb this morning so he hasn't been in any pain.)

While he was in the back with the doctor the girls and I waited in the waiting room. Megan and Lindsey were looking a magazines, until some young men came in. There was a young missionary that Lindsey instantly gravitated to. She said hi. Then gave him a magazine. Started talking to him. He said something back to her and she giggled and run away.
I was thinking... OH GREAT!! My 21 month old is a flirt.

Then I watched Megan. She was setting by a young man (around 20) and she was talking to him. She also gave him a magazine and told him she liked that magazine. Then to my embarrassment she asked if he was married. Thank heavens the nurse called this young man back before he could answer. Lindsey is a giggly flirt and Megan asked men if they are married.

Heaven Help Me when they are Teenagers!!

Amy's Health

Update on my health. Not exciting news but everyone wants to know how I'm doing so I'll adding this to my blog. It seem that as soon as I get feeling better, I will be good for about a month than I'm sick again.

Last week I had a stomach ache that over a few days grew into pains in my right side. I tried really hard to ignore the pain. Hoping that if I ignored it I would go away. Ignoring it was not easy for me to do because I have a very low tolerance for pain. Finally on Friday I stayed home from work and Ryan took me to the emergency room. We were afraid it might be an appendicitis. ( Thanks again to Shad and Audrey for watching Megan and Lindsey!! The girls had a blast at your house!!)

After several hours in the emergency room and many test including a CT scan. They said it wasn't my appendix. I was sent home and told to see my normal doctor on Monday. So Yesterday I went to my doctor and he said that it could be my lymph nodes in my stomach are swell or I have an ulcer. My mom has a history of ulcers there is a good chance that is what it is.
He put me on a bunch of prescriptions to see if pain goes away in a couple of days. If there pain is still there on Thursday, they are going to schedule a scope.

I'll post an updates!! Thanks everyone for your thoughts and concerns!!

Mickey Mouse for President '08

I have made my choice for President!!
VOTE MICKEY MOUSE!!

Lindsey knows Chinese

Lindsey has become our little talker. She will copy anything that is said. We have to be very careful about what we stay. She makes us laugh all the time because she likes to sing along with the radio or movies.

Megan has a new show on Nick jr she likes to watch. It is Ni hao Kai-lan. They teach kids words in Chinese. They say Ni hao (hello) several times during the show. Now Lindsey will walk around the house saying Ni hao. (It sounds more like me-ow.)

It's Ni hao when I get home from work. Ni hao in the car. Ni hao to people in the store.

I'm a proud mommy that my 20 month old can speak Chinese!!

Playing in the Rain

It rained all weekend!! Saturday I let the girls go outside to play in the rain. They had a blast.
Lindsey collected walnuts and putting them under the rain gutter to clean them off. It was really funny. Lindsey loves the mud. When I brought her in she was covered in head to toe with mud. I wish I would have taken a picture.
Megan had an umbrella and was dancing and singing in the rain. And she's never seen the movie "Singing in the Rain." She didn't keep the umbrella long before she was just playing in the water. She played outside for over an hour.
